Alphart am Mühlbach
At first glance, a classic family business in the heart of the Thermenregion in Traiskirchen, including the great tradition of the Heuriger. At second glance, the winery turns out to be a "rising star" in the Austrian wine heavens - a clear achievement by LORENZ ALPHART. Just 30 years young, he is master of the vineyards and cellars. His lateral thinking, his meticulousness and his experimentation with soil and grape varieties have brought him plenty of laurels in a very short time. Lorenz has been managing the winery for over 5 years and currently cultivates around 9 hectares in the best sites of the region.
CATHI ALPHART runs the Heuriger, which has always been a synonym for good food. Cathi continues this tradition in the kitchen. Culinary ingenuity, a varied range of dishes, and use of the very best basis products are indispensable for her, so there are delicacies for every taste in the Heuriger.
Your host and patron of the house is ROBERT Alphart, Cathi and Lorenz’s father. He is primarily concerned with the well-being of the guests: “It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable, forgets their everyday life and really allows themselves to be pampered.“
Mother LISI supports "her team" energetically with skill and experience – with Cathi in the kitchen making jam, at the Heuriger buffet, or even with the grape harvest. But Grandma CHRISTINE, despite her old age, is also an important support for the business - her greatest passion is the magnificent Heuriger garden.
In addition to the family, of course many employees also contribute to the business’ success.
History
At the end of the 1950s, our first "Buschenschank" (a small wine tavern serving only our own wine and cold food) was set up at Wassergasse #9. The first Heuriger buffet was created in the 1970s - we became famous for our strudel specialities. Guests often came from far away to the so-called "Strudel Heuriger". In the 1990s we expanded the business by buying a neighbouring plot of land and continuously expanded the winery’s main house. This was the cornerstone for ALPHART AM MÜHLBACH - a contemporary wine tavern and modern winery under one roof.
